Chamber to hold wine and art fundraiser
(New Bremen)
The Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce is holding their first Annual Wine Tasting and Art Fundraiser on Thursday September 13, 2012 at The Winery at Versailles. The Winery (reminiscent of Napa Valley) is located on State Route 47, just east of near US 127, four miles west of Versailles. “We chose The Winery at Versailles because of the relaxing atmosphere, excellent dinner menu and wide selection of locally produced wines,” said Scott Frey, Chamber Executive Director. “The Winery will provide our guests with four wines, paired perfectly with a four-course gourmet menu created especially for our event. Guests will leave with information on the pairings, recipes from the menu and a special commemorative wine glass.”
One of the unique features of the evening is the evening wear collection that will be on display from Emmy’s Bridal in Minster. “As we searched for an ideal partner and sponsoring business for our event, Emmy’s came to mind right away,” said Frey. “They have an amazing selection of beautiful gowns and dresses that are perfect for evenings out, and of course for weddings and receptions. It’s a great match for a wine event.”
Frey explained that guests will have the opportunity to purchase artwork and unique items at a silent auction during the evening. “We’re assembling a nice collection of artwork from local artists, along with some special auction items for folks to purchase during the evening,” Frey noted. “We’ve got a piece by James F. Dicke II and other interesting works that will catch the eye of our attendees.” Mr. Frey went on to say that the Chamber is still accepting donations of artwork for silent auction, if any local artist is interested in having their work featured.
Anyone interested in attending and/or donating auction items can call the chamber office at (419) 629-0313 for information. Details about the event are available on the chamber website at www.auglaize.org. RSVP will need to be made by August 17th, as seating is limited to 50 people. “Our guest list is filling up, so folks won’t want to wait too long to RSVP,” said Frey. “We’re very excited to be able to bring this type of event to the area. Wine tastings have become quite popular over the past few years and my hope is that we can make this an annual event for the chamber.”
